Valens Semiconductor has recently announced a significant achievement, securing three automotive design wins from leading European OEMs for its VA7000 MIPI A-PHY chipsets. These OEMs, part of a group of renowned automotive brands, have plans to integrate the Valens chipsets into specific vehicle models set for Start of Production (SoP) in 2026. The expected production volume is around five hundred thousand vehicles annually, with Valens projecting revenue of over $10 million in the next five to seven years from these design wins.

Following rigorous testing of various connectivity solutions for ADAS driver assistance systems, Valens emerged as a key player in the MIPI A-PHY standard, offering enhanced bandwidth, extended link distance, and improved immunity to electromagnetic interference. Collaborating closely with leading Automotive Tier-1 suppliers on the camera and System on Chip (SoC) fronts, Valens has paved the way for native MIPI A-PHY support in their platforms, potentially opening up new avenues for the company's A-PHY chipsets.

"As a former CTO and executive in major automotive OEMs, I can attest to the industry's anticipation for a secure and high-performance connectivity standard," remarked Dr. Peter Mertens, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Valens Semiconductor. "Valens has delivered precisely that, and I believe this validation from OEMs will drive wider adoption of this crucial technology in the industry."

Gideon Ben-Zvi, Chief Executive Officer of Valens Semiconductor, expressed pride in the company's selection by leading OEMs, emphasizing the validation of Valens technology's superiority. He acknowledged the long-term strategic investment in the automotive sector, highlighting the dedicated efforts of the Valens team in transforming their vision for an automotive connectivity standard into reality.

Gideon Kedem, Head of Automotive Business at Valens Semiconductor, hailed the design wins as a significant milestone not only for Valens but for the automotive industry at large. He emphasized that these wins solidify MIPI A-PHY as the foundational standard for advanced ADAS and autonomous driving systems, predicting a ripple effect of increased A-PHY adoption across the industry, positioning Valens favorably to capture more market share.
