Automotive tool supplier Vector Informatik has recently made a significant move in the industry by acquiring the measurement technology manufacturer CSM based in Filderstadt. This acquisition marks a new chapter in the collaboration between Computer-Systeme-Messtechnik (CSM) GmbH and Vector Informatik, who have been working together since 2015 to provide cutting-edge hardware and software solutions for measurement technology applications.
Despite the takeover, CSM will continue its business operations independently. However, the founding and managing director couple, Iris and Dr. Winfried Koch, will be stepping down from their roles. The exact value of the deal has not been disclosed, but it signifies a strategic shift in the landscape of measurement technology.
CSM has a strong reputation as a manufacturer of distributed and robust measurement technology, particularly in the realm of vehicle development and electric drive systems. With a history dating back to 1983, the company has been at the forefront of developing systems for acquiring a wide range of analog values, catering to the evolving needs of the automotive industry.
Currently, CSM boasts a team of over 100 employees dedicated to research, development, production, and customer interfaces. The company's headquarters in Filderstadt, near Stuttgart, serves as a hub for innovation, with international branches, including a specialized team in Auburn Hills, USA, contributing to its global presence.
Dr. Stefan Krauß, who has transitioned from Vector to become the new managing director of CSM, expressed optimism about the future prospects of the collaboration. "The successful partnership between Vector and CSM has demonstrated our ability to leverage our combined expertise to deliver robust and future-proof measurement technology solutions. We are committed to addressing upcoming challenges, particularly in the field of e-mobility, through tailored developments," Dr. Krauß stated.
