The Women's Engineering Society (WES) is excited to announce that it will be hosting the Caroline Haslett Lecture and its WES Awards 2023 in London on 13 December 2023. The prestigious event will take place at the Geological Society in Burlington House, Mayfair. This annual gathering not only celebrates the winners of the Karen Burt Memorial Award for the best female newly chartered engineer, but also recognizes the recipients of the Men as Allies Award and the Amy Johnson Inspiration Award.
The highlight of the evening will be the Caroline Haslett Lecture, which will be delivered by Dame Dawn Childs, the President of WES. Dame Dawn, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Pure Data Centre Group (Operations) Ltd, is a highly accomplished individual with an impressive educational background. She holds an MBA from Cranfield University, an MA in Defence Studies from Kings College London, and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Bath University. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, the Institute of Civil Engineers, the Royal Aeronautical Society, and the Women's Engineering Society. Dame Dawn's expertise and experience make her the perfect choice to deliver this year's lecture. She was elected to Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2020.
