LDRA, a leading provider of high assurance quality analysis and verification tools, has recently announced the extension of its support for the RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA) in its tool suite. This move is aimed at catering to the needs of developers working on emerging RISC-V implementations, including the Synopsys ARC-V processor IP for functional safety and security applications.

The LDRA tool suite offers a comprehensive set of development and on-target testing tools that facilitate a high assurance workflow for developers who are required to adhere to functional safety and security standards. These tools are compatible with commonly used compilers supporting the RISC-V architecture, as well as hardware tools utilized in on-target testing.

According to Ian Hennell, Operations Director at LDRA, "LDRA has once again positioned itself as the industry leader in support of on-target testing for critical embedded applications. Our tools empower developers to ensure high software quality throughout the entire design cycle, from requirements to deployment and testing, by collaborating with key players in the RISC-V ecosystem."

LDRA collaborates closely with industry leaders such as Andes Technology, Green Hills Software, Lauterbach, Synopsys, Tasking, and Wind River to provide a robust software quality development and verification tool chain for processors based on the RISC-V architecture. The company also partners with Segger and IAR in Europe to expand its reach and impact in the market.

The LDRA tool suite supports both 32- and 64-bit instruction sets and offers features such as requirements traceability, coding standards compliance, and static and dynamic coverage analysis. Developers have the flexibility to conduct unit- and system-level testing on host development platforms, as well as on simulated and physical RISC-V processors.
