Introducing innovative space-saving solutions for a variety of applications, Vishay has unveiled the 6DFNxxA, 6DFNxxxCA, T6NxxA, and T6NxxxCA TVS devices. These devices boast a peak pulse power of 600 W at 10/1000 μs and impressively low leakage current down to 1 μA.

The DFN3820A, the first package in Vishay's new Power DFN family, stands out with its compact 3.8 mm by 2.0 mm footprint and an incredibly low typical height of 0.88 mm. This design allows the Vishay General Semiconductor TVS to optimize PCB space utilization effectively. The DFN3820A is footprint-compatible with the SMP (DO-220AA) package, offering a reduction in size of 85% compared to the SMB (DO-214AA) and 42% compared to the SlimSMAW (DO-221AD), while maintaining a peak pulse power dissipation of 600 W with a 10/1000 μs waveform.

These newly released devices are specifically engineered to safeguard sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients caused by inductive load switching and lightning strikes. The 6DFNxxA and 6DFNxxxCA TRANSZORB TVS are ideal for signal line protection in various applications, including server power modules, digital media controllers, AV signal extenders for computer and consumer electronics, as well as industrial robot control boards, process and flow control instruments, and automation systems.

Designed to meet AEC-Q101 qualifications and capable of operating at high temperatures up to +185 °C, the T6NxxA and T6NxxxCA PAR TVS are tailored for automotive load dump protection. These TVS devices find applications in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), battery management systems (BMS), electric power steering (EPS), infotainment systems, central control units, on-board chargers (OBC), DC/DC converters, traction inverters, and electrical motor drives.

Featuring excellent clamping capability, the TVS devices offer a maximum clamping voltage ranging from 16.7 V to 70.1 V for the 6DFNxxA and T6NxxA, and from 16.7 V to 137 V for the 6DFNxxxCA and T6NxxxCA. The DFN3820A package's wettable flanks enable automatic optical inspection (AOI), eliminating the need for X-ray inspection. These rectifiers are well-suited for automated placement, with a MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1 per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260 °C. Additionally, the devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, and their matte tin-plated leads meet the JESD 201 class 2 whisker test.
