Video Switch Reduces Bill of Materials for Interface Standards

Diodes, a leading semiconductor manufacturer, has recently introduced an automotive-compliant 20Gbps 1:2 video switch designed specifically for in-cabin infotainment and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) applications.

The newly launched Diodes PI3WVR14412Q video switch boasts a space-saving design that not only reduces the bill of materials (BoM) but is also qualified for elevated temperatures, making it ideal for automotive environments.

The switch features four high-speed lanes with a 10GHz bandwidth, capable of handling various connections including DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, MIPI DPHY/CPHY, USB 3.2, and LVDS. It also includes switches for hot-plug detect (HPD), HDMI display data channel (DDC), and DisplayPort auxiliary (AUX) signals to ensure seamless integration.

With low insertion loss, low return loss, and low channel-to-channel crosstalk, the PI3WVR14412Q guarantees excellent signal integrity. It can pass high-speed differential signals up to 1.2V peak-to-peak and allows for a wide common-mode voltage range from 0V to the supply rail, which can be up to 3.3V. This flexibility enables DC signal coupling, eliminating the need for AC-coupling capacitors and saving valuable PCB space.

The AEC-Q100 Grade 2 compliant video switch is manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities and supports PPAP documents, ensuring high quality and reliability. Its wide ambient operating-temperature range, from -40°C to 105°C, makes it suitable for deployment in challenging environments or locations exposed to direct sunlight.
