Industry veteran Rupert Baines is set to become the CEO of GaN-based motor drive company QPT in Cambridge, UK, starting from April 1st. Baines brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously served as the CEO of UltraSoC and the CMO of Codasip.
"Rupert has been the lead adviser for QPT since January 2022, and his support has been invaluable," said QPT founder and CTO Rob Gwynne. "We are now at a very exciting stage: first prototypes, customer traction, and raising funding on Crowdcube. We are looking forward to having Rupert on board to accelerate our growth."
QPT, established in Cambridge in 2020, specializes in GaN power assemblies designed using RF and microwave techniques to enhance efficiency and performance. The company's innovative technology has been extensively covered by Electronics Weekly.
In a separate announcement, software development tool company Percepio, based in Västerås, Sweden, has appointed Andreas Lifvendahl as its new CEO. Percepio aims to strengthen its leadership in embedded software observability as systems and applications become increasingly complex.
Lifvendahl brings 25 years of experience in leading and advising start-ups and growing companies, including IAR Systems. He joins Percepio from Imint Image Intelligence, where he served as CEO since 2012, successfully guiding the company from its start-up phase to becoming publicly traded.
Percepio's product lineup includes Tracealyzer, a tool that visualizes run-time behavior for debugging, and DevAlert, a cloud-based observability and remote debugging solution for edge devices.
"We are thrilled to welcome Andreas Lifvendahl as our new CEO," said Percepio founder and CTO Johan Kraft. "The complexity of embedded and edge applications is rapidly increasing, and Andreas' track record in scaling up technical organizations aligns perfectly with our goal of establishing Percepio as the standard for embedded software observability."
Lifvendahl holds an engineering physics MSc from Uppsala University and serves on the boards of Imint and Uppsala Innovation Center.
