Diodes Releases Signal Repeater for High Pixel-Count Cameras
Diodes, a leading semiconductor manufacturer, has recently unveiled a new signal repeater designed specifically for high pixel-count cameras. The 2.5Gbit/s MIPI D-PHY 1.2 compliant signal repeater, known as PI2MEQX2503, offers advanced features to enhance the performance of cameras in various applications.
The PI2MEQX2503 is capable of regenerating and equalizing two data lanes and a single clock. This allows it to compensate for losses caused by PCB, connector, cable, and switching-related factors. By doing so, it ensures optimum electrical performance from a CSI2 source to a DSI sink, as stated by the company.
One of the notable features of the PI2MEQX2503 is its power consumption flexibility. It has three operation modes: active mode, which consumes 120mW, and two lower power modes with consumption levels of 5mW and 2mW respectively. Additionally, it offers a shut-down mode with a power consumption as low as 200μW.
To further enhance its performance, the PI2MEQX2503 provides programmable receiver equalization, output swing, and pre-emphasis. These features allow users to compensate for channel loss and optimize the signal quality according to their specific requirements.
The PI2MEQX2503 is designed to operate in a wide temperature range, from -40 to +85°C, making it suitable for various environments. It comes in a compact X1QFN-24 (XEA24) package, measuring only 2 x 4mm, which enables easy integration into different devices.
With its advanced features and compact design, the PI2MEQX2503 is expected to find applications in a wide range of devices. These include laptops, tablets, mobile phones, IoT devices, commercial displays, augmented reality headsets, drones, and robots. Its ability to enhance signal quality and compensate for losses makes it a valuable component for high pixel-count cameras in these applications.
