UK processor startup VyperCore has unveiled the initial outcomes from its VyperLab evaluation platform. Through the utilization of the Python community’s PyPerformance unmodified benchmark code, the RTL of a custom RISC-V processor has demonstrated up to 5x performance enhancements on existing code without the need for recompilation.
Russel Haggar, the chief executive of VyperCore, has disclosed that the company is currently exploring potential technology collaborations with three of the industry’s top processor vendors. This strategic move aims to foster innovation and drive advancements in processor technology.
One of VyperCore’s key initiatives includes the development of a 5nm RISC-V server chip and card. This project is set to revolutionize the server market by offering high-performance, energy-efficient solutions that cater to the evolving needs of datacenters and cloud computing environments.
Furthermore, VyperLab, which was introduced last month, enables developers to assess the architecture on RTL of a RISC-V processor in the cloud without requiring any code modifications.
