The demand for comprehensive WLAN solutions continues to rise across various sectors, including industrial estates, office campuses, transport fleets, repositories, and agricultural applications. WLAN technology, known for its stability, security, and high access rates, plays a crucial role in facilitating data communication in diverse business fields. To meet these evolving needs, Acceed, a company based in Düsseldorf, Germany, has introduced two innovative dual outdoor access points – the WDAP-1800AX and WDAP-3000AX – in collaboration with Planet. These access points are designed to deliver cost-effective solutions tailored to the requirements of modern businesses, featuring Wi-Fi 6, IP67 rating, wide temperature range, PoE support, advanced security protocols, and OFDMA.

The WDAP-1800AX and WDAP-3000AX are robust industrial access points specifically engineered for outdoor environments with challenging conditions, leveraging the high-performance Wi-Fi 6 protocol (IEEE802.11ax). The WDAP-1800AX offers a data rate of 1.2 Gbit/s in the 5 GHz band, while the WDAP-3000AX can achieve speeds of up to 2.4 Gbit/s, with the potential to reach 3 Gbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band. Both devices are compliant with the latest security standards, including WPA3 SAE for authentication and encryption.

These access points support simultaneous operation on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, providing enhanced flexibility for various applications. Users can communicate with local devices using the 2.4 GHz band and establish connections with other access points via the 5 GHz band, enabling the creation of a wireless backbone network. The dual-band functionality allows for catering to different device requirements, such as utilizing the 2.4 GHz band for extended range and the 5 GHz band for improved performance and speed.

By incorporating OFDMA technology from Wi-Fi 6, which divides channels into smaller sub-channels, these access points enable multiple users to transmit and receive data simultaneously within the same channel, thereby increasing access density. The system continuously monitors the reception quality of sub-carriers for individual users, optimizing their use and enhancing spectral efficiency. Additionally, MU-MIMO support allows for concurrent data transmission to multiple WLAN devices, reducing latency and improving overall network throughput.

Noteworthy for their robust construction, both WDAP models feature IP67-certified aluminum casings that provide protection against dust and water, making them ideal for outdoor deployment in harsh conditions spanning temperatures from -40 to +70 °C. Equipped with four type N sockets for high-gain antennas, these access points offer reliable connectivity for long-distance outdoor applications. Furthermore, the integrated 20-kV overvoltage protection safeguards the electronics from electrical surges, ensuring stable operation.
