TDK has introduced a new series of 10BASE-T1L plug-and-play power boards designed specifically for Analog Devices' single pair Ethernet (SPE) power over data line (PoDL) applications. This innovative offering aims to enhance the connectivity and power capabilities of SPE systems, catering to the evolving needs of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 networks.
The TDK EVB-DLA-00x series features six PoDL power classes, aligning with Analog Devices' EVAL-ADIN1100EBZ and EVAL-ADIN1110EBZ SPE evaluation boards. These daughter cards are tailored to streamline the development process, enabling seamless integration of Ethernet-based connectivity from sensors to the cloud, with a focus on power delivery.
One of the key advantages of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) technology is its ability to support data rates of up to 10 Mbps and distances of up to 1000 m while simultaneously providing power over the data line. This dual functionality opens up new possibilities for smart buildings and industrial automation applications, where efficient power distribution is crucial.
TDK offers a range of inductors optimized for PoDL applications, including common-mode chokes (CMCs), isolation inductors (ICI), and differential mode inductors (DMIs). These components are now integrated into TDK's daughter boards, which can be easily connected to Analog Devices' evaluation boards for rapid prototyping and testing.
The EVB-DLA-00x series supports various power class requirements, allowing designers to work with feed currents up to 1810 mA for different APL and IEEE 802.3cg-2019 standards. By leveraging these daughter boards, developers in the industrial and building automation sectors can kickstart their projects using the robust evaluation platforms provided by Analog Devices.
