Nexperia, a leading semiconductor manufacturer, has introduced a new family of push-pull drivers designed to deliver up to 6 W of power with exceptional efficiency. These drivers, including the NXF6501-Q100, NXF6505A-Q100, and NXF6505B-Q100 models, come in a small outline SOT package, making them ideal for a wide range of industrial and automotive applications.

The primary focus of these push-pull transformer drivers is to enable the creation of compact, low-noise, and low-EMI isolated power supplies. This makes them perfect for use in traction inverters, motor control systems, DC-DC converters, battery management units, and on-board chargers in electric vehicles (EVs).

Moreover, the versatility of these transformer drivers extends beyond the automotive sector. They are equally well-suited for various industrial applications, including telecommunications, medical devices, instrumentation, industrial automation equipment, solar inverters, energy meters, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

One of the key features of the NXF650x(A/B)-Q100 series is their ability to drive low-profile, center-tapped transformers using a power supply voltage range of 2.25 V to 5.5 V. With a high output current of 1.2 A at 5 V and efficiency levels reaching up to 90%, these drivers offer a compelling solution for demanding power delivery requirements.

Furthermore, the NXF650x(A/B)-Q100 series incorporates advanced design elements such as an internal oscillator, gate drive circuitry, and slew rate control to optimize performance. The inclusion of spread-spectrum clocking (SSC) ensures ultra-low noise and minimal electromagnetic interference, enhancing the overall reliability of the power supply system.
